Public Works

The Public Works Department is responsible for maintaining the streets, park and water and sewer systems.  The public works department is committed to keeping Tipton sustainable, clean and safe.  For more information pertaining to the public works department contact Supt. of Public Works Jeff Koechner, 660-433-5518.

Streets
The city maintains over 17 miles of public streets.  Services provided include maintaining street signs, vegetation, minor pothole repair, snow and ice removal, unclogging drains and other facility maintenance.

Water
There is over 25 miles of water mains in Tipton.  The system includes 2 wells and 2 towers with a storage capacity of 300,000.  Tipton does not treat the water with fluoride, but is required to treat with chlorine.

Sewer
The waste water treatment facility is responsible for collecting and processing waste per state regulations and recognizes the importance of the community's public health and safety.  

Yearly services to the water and sewer system includes well, tower and main maintenance, main locates, meter reading, testing and reporting.
